Man Robbed Trumbull Mall Restaurant: PD

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested and charged with robbery after he tried to steal money from a tip jar at Ten Asian Bistro, according to police.

Shaire Bascome, 22, and another male tried to take the cash Jan. 19 around 5 p.m. and an employee tried to stop him, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman.

Bascome grabbed the employee, wrapped his arms around her and swung her into a glass door, which caused minor injuries, Weir said.

Both men fled on foot and Bascome was apprehended a short distance from the mall. The other man escaped.The restaurant employee didn't require medical attention.

Bascome was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $25,000 and he had another active arrest warrant for violation of a court order that carried $75,000 bail.

A restaurant worker was assaulted earlier in the month at the mall in an unrelated case.
