Man Steals $62k from Trumbull Resident: PD

The computer repairman gained access to the victim's finances, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A computer repairman was charged with stealing more than $62,000 from a victim's checking accounts, police said.

Billie Conley, 37, of Bridgeport went to the victim's home during June 2016. While there he had rifled through the victim's office and obtained access to his checking accounts, according to police.

A total of 133 transactions were made over several days to the victim's checking accounts. The total loss was $62,753.28. Money was used to pay off credit card debt and Conley's family member's debt, police said.

Conley was picked up by Derby Police on April 3 and turned over to Trumbull authorities. He was charged with first-degree larceny, criminal impersonation and first-degree identity theft. He was held on a $200,000 court-set bond.
