Obit: ​Alfred R. Bertoldi, 89, Formerly of Trumbull

Alfred R. Bertoldi, age 89, of Shelton, formally of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease with his loving daughters by his side.

Born in Yonkers, New York on February 19, 1927. Alfred was a son of the late Simplizio Bertoldi and Immaculata Lombardi Bertoldi. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years Jeannette Piccola Bertoldi. Alfred was the Director of Building Engineering for Northbrook Management Corp. Stamford, CT for many years until his retirement. He was a talented ballroom and country western dancer and spent many happy times dancing with his cherished wife.

Alfred became an avid golfer in his retirement and enjoyed his daily morning games with his dear friend Mr. Clark but he was most proud of his grandchildren who were a constant source of pride and joy. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Catherine Gibb and her husband James of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Jeannette Davidson and her husband Jim of Shelton, CT, formally of Trumbull.

Alfred is also survived by his three cherished grandchildren, Kate Davidson of Jersey City, NJ, James Davidson of Los Angeles CA and Nicholas Davidson of Boston, MA as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Mr. Bertoldi was predeceased by his sister Genevieve Bertoldi Kouten and his brother Vincent "Jimmy" Bertoldi.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many wonderful caregivers and staff of Seacrest Village who cared loving for their father in his greatest hour of need. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 1-5pm on Sunday September 11, 2016 at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull CT. Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
