Scavenger hunt for man's best friend, Greek Festival, Walk to Fight Homelessness and activities this weekend in our area

FETCH, Funding Education & Treatment for Cancer Hounds is holding a scavenger hunt for dogs and their humans this Saturday starting at 9 a.m. The scavenger hunt is $25 per car and all proceeds go to the Riedel & Cody Fund, supporting people whos pets have cancer. The hunt begins at your very own home and will conclude at a park located at 333 Ludlowe St. in Stamford. Get out of the house Saturday morning and gather everyone together for family fun. After the hunt is over there will be a family picnic, activities and exhibitors. There will also be a concert at the park starting at 12:30 p.m. by Mystic Bowie. is holding the seminar "How to Fund College Without Going Broke" Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. in the Merwin Room, Trumbull resident Mike Dailey will go over how to plan for college expenses. This class will let you take into account the total picture of your son or daughter's total college picture, including: what the school will cost, the better college choice, and how to finance more than one child enrolling in college. The Greek Festival and Fair located at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport at 4070 Park Ave. will hold the celebrations now through Sunday, rain or shine. Authentic Greek food and pastries will be served as there will be live music, games and rides. Entitled "Olympiad 2011," there will also be a 50/50 Raffle with a $5,000 cash prize, handcrafted jewelry for sale, cooking demonstrations, dancers and artifacts. Alpha Community Services 10th Annual Walk to End Homelessness sponsored by Alpha Community Services of Bridgeport will be held this Saturday starting at Captain's Cove Seaport at 1 Bostwick Ave. Last year, Alpha housed 196 families which included 279 children in family shelters. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:30 a.m. For four miles, participants will walk around Black Rock and can enjoy light snacks, refreshments, a live DJ, as well as a raffle and auction.
