The Fairfield Museum and History Center located at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield is showcasing more than 20 model ships built by Fairfield resident and craftsman Jim Wiser. "From Sea to Shining Sea" is running now through April 24. Bring the kids for educational fun as they check out the history and architecture of ships of all sizes. These displays are all handcrafted, including the crewmen which make the realism of the boats come alive. The coast of Fairfield County is rich in history and it comes alive through these replicated ships that once sailed Long Island Sound and into the Atlantic. Also on display will be maritime paintings, a rare and recently discovered map and the 200th anniversary exhibition of the Coast Survery initiated by Thomas Jefferson. Hours of operation are every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday noon until 4 p.m. Admission for adults is $5, and for students and children $3.
