PD: Two Arrested After Car Nearly Hit Trumbull Police Cruiser

Two men were arrested after a vehicle nearly hit a Trumbull Police cruiser, according to police.

An officer was traveling on White Plains Road when a vehicle coming north crossed the double yellow line and nearly struck the cruiser, police said.

The vehicle was stopped and the officer smelled marijuana. Passenger Antonio Lanchaster, 19, of Bridgeport refused to corporate and said to the officer that he would need a search warrant to search the vehicle, police said. He was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed.

Police found a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe.

Driver Nicholas Marini, 19, of Trumbull failed a field sobriety test, police said. His blood-alcohol level was .1253 and .1203.

Marini was charged with DUI, possession of liquor in a vehicle by a minor, failure to drive right, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $500 bond.

Lanchaster was charged with interfering with an officer. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
