Police: Bridgeport Woman Leaves Kids Home Alone, Drives Drunk in Trumbull

Police said there was a partially empty vodka bottle in her car.

Trumbull police arrested a Bridgeport woman Sunday for driving under the influence, while she left her children unattended.

An article in the Trumbull Times said Meitta Young, 36, had hit an unoccupied car around 11:45 a.m. on Bonnie View Drive.

The police report said Young was argumentative and confused while at the acciden scene and said she didn’t remember what happened.

She refused from give her driver’s license to the officer, while stating she thought she was in Bridgeport. Young also refused a alcohol breath test.

The Times said officers found a partially empty vodka bottle in the car.

Young began acting mentally unstable, police said, and she was released on a promise to appear in court and sent to a hospital by ambulance.

Police later got a call from the hospital which led them to notice the Bridgeport police who found two 8-month-olds, a 1-year-old and a 5-year-old alone at home.
