Remediation Work Continues At Trumbull High

The school will reopen Monday as a company works to fix the damage.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull High School is scheduled to reopen Monday after being closed for three days this week after Tuesday's massive rainstorm caused flooding damage.

Property damage cleanup company JP McGuire was hired to cleanup the damage and a reconstruction will fix any needed areas, according to the Connecticut Post.

Materials like drywall and carpeting that were damaged are being replaced, hard surfaces are being sanitized and wet areas are being dried out.

Unfortunately many Trumbull homeowners are finding out that their property insurance doesn't cover flooding damage. The state doesn't qualify for federal disaster assistance. Town officials are working with state and federal officials to identify other possible federal options for relief.

Anyone with storm damage is asked to email photographs and information to the Trumbull Emergency Management Office at toem@trumbull-ct.gov.
