Report of Child Falling Through Trumbull Ice Prompts Search, Scene Cleared

TRUMBULL, CT — A report that a child may have fallen through ice near Main Street and Governor Trumbull Way prompted a search, but firefighters later determined that all children were safe and accounted for.

Firefighters from Long Hill, Trumbull Center and Nichols stations along with EMS responded to the area just before 4 p.m. Wednesday after getting the report, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page.

Firefighters used high definition underwater cameras and searched the perimeter.

Firefighters later spoke with friends of the parents and confirmed all children were safe.
