Residence Controversy Over Trumbull Finance Board Member

Thomas Kelly said his property in Stratford is just a vacation home.

Is he or isn’t he? A resident of Trumbull, that is.

Town Republicans are alleging that Board of Finance member Thomas Kelly is no longer a resident of Trumbull, according to an article in the Connecticut Post. Board of Finance members are elected to their positions.

A complaint has been filed with the State Elections Enforcement Committee by William Holden, the town Republican registrars of voters and former chairman of the Republican Town Committee.

Holden says Kelly may no longer be a resident of the town and, therefore, should not be an elected official.

The question, the Post said, is whether Kelly’s home in the Lordship section of Stratford is his primary residence or, as he says, a vacation home.
