Retired Trumbull Teacher Passes Away
Roger Capobianco, 79, was a teacher for 37 years in Trumbull.

Roger Capobianco, 79, formerly of Monroe, passed away peacefully on April 23. Roger graduated from Fairfield University and continued his education at the school to earn a Masters Degree and a 6th Year in Education. Through his joy of teaching he met the love of his life, Kathy, with whom he is reunited in Heaven.
Roger dedicated 37 years of teaching in the Trumbull Public School System, where he garnered accolades from parents, students and colleagues and was recognized as Teacher of the Year. Roger considered the roles of father and grandfather to be the greatest achievements of his life. He was always there to support them, sharing in their joys and helping to lift their spirits in their disappointments.
Roger had a giving heart and was generous in many volunteer activities such as the Fresh Air Fund and reading to students at inner city schools. Roger is predeceased by his father Henry, mother Margaret, and loving wife Kathy. He is survived by daughter Kate Gaumer and her husband Chris, son Chris Capobianco and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Sarah Williams and her husband Mike, and several nieces and nephews. With loving hearts, his grandchildren, Matt, Mike, Kaitlin and Lindsay Capobianco, Hannah, Jack and Will Gaumer, and Emma and Elliott Williams, will keep his memory alive.
