TRUMBULL, CT — While school districts in Connecticut have grappled with an escalation of threats to students and/or staff in recent weeks, Trumbull High School did not have one Wednesday, according to Principal Marc Guarino.

In a message to families Wednesday night, Guarino said the rumors were investigated and were not true.

"There was not a threat nor a report of threat made against the school in general, either today or for tomorrow," Guarino wrote. "[Wednesday] afternoon and into [the] evening, the school administration and the Trumbull Police Department worked jointly to investigate these rumors. We spoke with the parties involved and these rumors are unfounded."

"Even though there is no credibility to these rumors, we will have a greater police presence at our school [Thursday]," Guarino said. "I understand the impact this has on the school community given the events in Michigan last week and across the state this week."
