Rutigliano Appointed Deputy Leader Of House Republican Caucus

State Rep. David Rutigliano has been appointed to serve as a deputy leader of the House Republican caucus.

TRUMBULL, CT — State Rep. David Rutigliano (R-123) has been appointed to serve as a deputy leader of the House Republican caucus.

According to a news release provided by House Republicans, Rutigliano was named a deputy house leader by House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora, making Rutigliano one of two legislators assigned to oversee day-to-day operations of a successful House Republican caucus.

"Representative Rutigliano has distinguished himself among his colleagues as a respected lawmaker, a meticulous negotiator and energetic leader within the General Assembly," Candelora said in a news release. "He's a tremendous asset to our caucus, and I am grateful he is willing to serve in this critical role."

Rutigliano won re-election to a sixth term in November, representing the 123rd Assembly District of Trumbull.

"I'm excited for this additional responsibility and opportunity," Rutigliano said in a news release. "I'm honored and humbled by Leader Candelora's trust in me. The House Republicans, represent 1.27 million people in 53 districts, and we are prepared to stand up for every single one of our constituents, their families and the entire state of Connecticut in the upcoming session."

Rutigliano also continues to serve as the ranking member of the legislative General Law Committee. He will also serve on the executive and legislative nominations and the budget-writing appropriations committees.

The 2023 legislative session is scheduled to convene Jan. 4 and adjourn June 7.
