Six Trumbull Officers Receive Life Saving Awards

Six officers were highlighted for their efforts to save victims who went into cardiac arrest.

TRUMBULL, CT — Six Trumbull Police officers were presented with the "Life Saving" award from Trumbull EMS. They were recognized for their efforts to provide critical care last year.

In four incidents an individual suffered a serious medical condition and went into cardiac arrest. Officers performed CPR and used a portable AED unit. In all four incidents the patients survived and were discharged from the hospital.

“We are grateful for the hard working, professional and caring First Responders and thank them for their dedication to our community," said Trumbull EMS Director Joseph Laucella.

The recipients included the following officers, along with the date of the medical emergency call:

  • Officer Kyle Siljamaki May 5, 2017
  • Officer Jack Moramarco July 26, 2017
  • Officer Robert Lee September 5, 2017
  • Officer Quinn Gagstetter September 5, 2017
  • Officer Thomas Dzurenda October 2, 2017
  • Officer Joseph Dzurenda October 2, 2017

“The value of the first responder program cannot be overstated," said Trumbull Police Chief Michael Lombardo. "This is highlighted by the unprecedented number of four lives saved last year.”
