Stamford Schools Announces Schedule Change Friday, Parking Ban Extended
A schedule change is in store for schools Friday.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule Friday.
The city is also extending the parking ban uuntil 7 a.m. Friday so crews can finish clearing roads. Vehicles will be allowed to stay in city garages until 10 p.m. Friday.
Stamford authorities towed 73 vehicles Thursday from emergency snow routes.

A total of 25 motor vehicle accidents were reported as of 6 p.m. and four injuries resulted from accidents. Additionally 17 disabled vehicles required assistance.
· Stamford’s Alternate Parking Rules
To provide adequate maneuvering space for snow removal equipment on some of our narrower streets (see those designated below), alternate side parking rules will be in effect.
Parking will be allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street and restricted on the even-numbered side of the street until 8 a.m. the following day (February 10th).

· Communicate with and help people who require special assistance such as elderly people living alone, people with disabilities and children.
· Avoid driving until road conditions have improved.
· The Government Center will continue to be utilized as a warming station from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. An overnight warming center will continue to be open from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Inspirica at 8 Woodland Place, Stamford.
· Vehicle Recovery: After the storm ceases and the snow emergency is canceled, for vehicle recovery, residents should call 203-977-4444, provide a license plate number and directions will be provided.
