State Reps Announce 2 State Grants For Trumbull
State Reps. David Rutigliano and Sarah Keitt have announced two state bond awards for Trumbull by the State Bond Commission.
TRUMBULL, CT — State Reps. David Rutigliano and Sarah Keitt have announced two state bond awards for Trumbull by the State Bond Commission.
In a news release, Rutigliano (R-Trumbull) said Trumbull would receive two state bond awards at Friday's State Bond Commission.
The first bond allocation will be for $500,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut for renovations and improvements to the organization’s headquarters in Trumbull, according to Rutigliano.

The second bond award is for the town of Trumbull to be used for critical infrastructure repairs to culverts along Edison Road in the amount of $820,000, Rutigliano said.
These bond items were among many that were in the state bond package passed in the state budget in May and supported by Rutigliano, he said.

"I am so grateful we were able to secure the funds for these two projects," Rutigliano said in a news release.
In a separate release, Keitt (D-Fairfield) announced the State Bond Commission has approved a bond request of $820,000 to provide critical infrastructure repairs to culverts along Williams Road in Trumbull.
"I'm thrilled this bond funding came through for Trumbull," Keitt said in a news release. "This culvert project will benefit not only residents in the area but also our first responders. The aging culverts along Williams Road have resulted in flooding at the Trumbull Police Department parking lot, impacting emergency vehicles. Upgrades to the culverts will help address the flooding issues at the police department and on Edison Road. I want to thank Governor Ned Lamont and the State Bond Commission for seeing this need in Trumbull."
Keitt represents the 134th House District, serving both Fairfield and Trumbull.
"This shovel-ready project is for the reconstruction of the Williams Road culvert and phase two of the Edison Road culvert construction," First Selectman Vicki Tesoro said in a news release. "This is a critical infrastructure project for the Town of Trumbull that will provide safety in this area for our residents and the Trumbull Police Department, which is located on Edison Road."
According to Assistant Town Engineer Tatiana Solovey, Edison Road is a 1.3 mile long connector between state routes 111 and 127.
"Edison Road Culvert is located about 400 feet away from the Trumbull police headquarters and has reached the end of its life," Solovey said in a news release. "It collapsed in November of 2021. Reconstruction is needed to provide for a safe passage of (Island Brook) water, vehicles, and to avoid property damage."
