Three Groups of Suspected Trumbull Car Burglars Apprehended: PD

Trumbull Police remind residents to secure valuables and lock their vehicle doors.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull Police recently apprehended three separate groups of people who intended to commit car burglaries, said Chief Michael Lombardo.

Some of the apprehended individuals were in a stolen vehicle, Lombardo said.

"We are also working closely with other police departments to apprehend additional suspects," he said.

Lombardo recommended that Trumbull residents remove valuables from their vehicles and to lock them when not in use.

"Automobiles that are less likely to be broken into are those that do not have valuables in plain sight and are locked," he said. "Securing your home and setting your alarm are also deterrents. A home or business that is marked with alarm placards, is well illuminated and where the shrubbery does not allow a hiding place is less likely to be targeted for burglary."

Oftentimes a car burglary where personal information is taken leads to identity or credit card theft issues down the road, Lombardo said.
