Trumbull ARC Resolution Draws Disagreements Over Legality
Some current and former officials said the mandate wasn't legal and was rejected by voters less than two years ago.

TRUMBULL, CT- Trumbull Town Treasurer Anthony Musto said a new ordinance that changes how town pension plans must be funded may not be legal.
The Annual Required Contributions funding mandate was put before town voters in 2014 during a charter revision referendum, according to the Trumbull Times. It was rejected by voters.

Former Democratic Town Councilor and first selectman candidate Vicki Tesoro said that voters just rejected the measure 16 months ago and the will of the people is clear.

Ultimately the town council voted 10-7 in favor of the fully funded mandate.
