Trumbull BOE Asks for Budget Increase

The budget still has several steps before final approval.

TRUMBULL, CT — The Board of Education unanimously approved the school budget with some adjustments that seeks a 3.5 percent increase in spending that would bring the budget to $102.4 million.

One highlight of the budget include slashing the pay to play fee for sports and other extracurricular activities, according to the Connecticut Post. The hockey fee will be reduced to $200 due to the high costs of that program.

The school system will also have to pay $288,000 to Bridgeport for sending students to the Fairchild Wheeler and Discovery Magnet Schools.
