Trumbull Boys Hockey To Host New Year's Eve Event

Trumbull will be hosting the first New Year's Eve High School Hockey Face Off at Bridgeport's Webster Bank Arena on Saturday. The event features four area teams playing in a doubleheader.

At noon, defending Division III state champion Watertown-Pomperaug takes on Newtown, followed by Trumbull against Branford at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10 at the arena and will be good for both games.

Trumbull is off to a 4-1 start and leads the Division II standings. The Eagles defeated Lyman Hall 7-4 in their last game on Monday.

Trumbull is being led by senior captain Michael Ahearn, who already has 17 points on nine goals and eight assists.

Tim Riley is Trumbull's second-leading scorer with five goals and eight assists while Brendan Strobel has nine points on four goals and five assists.
