Possible Trumbull Budget Cut Could Reduce Town Services

Herbst has ordered contingency budgets in case Gov. Malloy's state budget is passed.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Tim Herbst has ordered department heads to submit budgets with five and 10 percent reductions as contingencies in case Gov. Dannel Malloy's proposed budget goes through.

The proposed budget would be about a $6 million hit for Trumbull and would result in a six percent budget increase to compensate.

Herbst said he won't support a six percent tax hike, according to the Trumbull Times.
