Trumbull Car Fire Results In Serious Injuries: State Police
State police said the car caught fire after striking a guardrail in Trumbull and some passengers suffered serious injuries.
TRUMBULL, CT — Some passengers were seriously injured after a car caught fire in Trumbull early Saturday morning, according to state police.
In a news release, state police said a 2017 Ford Fusion traveling north on Route 15 near exit 48 struck a wood beam guardrail around 2:30 a.m.
The vehicle then traveled up an embankment by the Frenchtown Road overpass and caught fire due to the collision, state police said.

The driver and four passengers were all able to exit the vehicle and brought to either Bridgeport Hospital or St. Vincent's Hospital. The driver's injuries were minor, state police said.
One of the passengers, who suffered a skull fracture and a broken neck, was described as having "possible life-threatening injuries," according to state police.

The car was towed from the area and the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad was called in to assist with an investigation, state police said. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Troop G- Bridgeport.
