The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Maintaining stable taxes while providing for necessary town services, public safety and education. As I have done for each of the last 6 years, and I will carefully review the budget to ensure that every tax dollar is used wisely and efficiently.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have served on the Council for the last 6 years, the last 4 as Majority Leader and have the invaluable experience of working with First Selectman's office, and the various Town department heads and personnel to gain an in depth understanding of the needs and issues affecting the Town and its many services are delivered to the community.
Accomplishments:
Other than having served for the last 6 years, as a practicing commercial and corporate attorney, I have the ability to understand and analyze with a critical, and yet practical eye the issues presented before the Council and to work through differences of opinion to help arrive at the best decisions possible for the Town and residents we serve.
Other issues:
Working to improve transparency in how education dollars are spent and budgeted. Modernizing the delivery of Town services and exploring areas where efficiencies can be improved. Continuing work as Chair of the Aquatics Facilities Building Committee to replace aging facilities with a state of the art aquatics complex that will serve the Town's recreational and competitive aquatics programs for the next 30+ years.
