Trumbull Girls Win Masuk Holiday Tournament

The Trumbull girls basketball team won the championship game of the Masuk holiday tournament Friday with a 43-40 victory over the host Panthers.

Alexa Pfohl scored 13 points for the Eagles, who improved to 7-0. They also avenged their only regular-season loss from last year.

Victoria Pfohl collected eight rebounds and six assists for Trumbull while Joyce Woolen grabbed eight boards.

Victoria Pfohl was named tournament MVP while sister Alexa also was named to the all-tournament squad.

Michelle Wu paced Masuk (4-3) with 19 points.

Trumbull opened a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and lead 17-13 at the intermission. It was 30-27 Trumbull after three periods.
