Trumbull Infrastructure Significantly Impacted By Flash Flood
The high school wasn't the only public property that was damaged during the Sept. 25 flash flood.
TRUMBULL, CT — Town officials will be picking up the pieces for some time after the Sept. 25 flash flood that dropped a massive amount of rain over a six-hour period. Many town roadways, catch basins and culverts are in immediate need of rpeair.
Some roads suffered damage when large pieces of asphalt were washed away by flood waters. Some catch basins and culverts are clogged with debris and need to be cleaned out, said First Selectman Vicki Tesoro.
Both town and Board of Education fields are also in need of repair.

Trumbull High School had flood dmage in the auditorium, commons, gym, band room, offices and hallways.

Due to the extensive damage incurred by the Town, it is impossible to do a special bulk pickup for affected residents. However, the Transfer Station will extend it hours of operation on Saturday, October 6th from 7 AM until 2:45 PM and will also be open on Monday, October 8th (Columbus Day) from 7:00 AM until 2:45 PM.
The State and the Town are continuing to explore other federal options and compiling additional information related to the effects of the storm in order to identify possible resources for assistance.
