Trumbull K-9 Passes Away Unexpectedly
K-9 Cyrus joined police in 2011 and will be missed by the department and partner Officer RJ Carlson.

TRUMBULL, CT- Police have announced that Trumbull K-9 Cyrus passed away unexpectedly.
Cyrus passed away at home overnight.
Cyrus helped make numerous felony arrests, find missing persons and assisted with a number of drug arrests during his career.
His biggest bust was for 12.5 kilograms of heroin during a motor vehicle stop.

Cyrus was with the department for nearly seven years and was recently nationally certified for evidence recovery, urban tracking, building searches and advanced tactical operations.

"Most importantly, he was a great partner to Officer RJ Carlson and a beloved member of both the Carlson Family and the TPD Family," police said on Facebook. "He will be greatly missed."
