TRUMBULL, CT — The Trumbull Library will host an in-person author talk event next month featuring captivating storyteller and esteemed professor of law Marcia Zug.
According to a news release provided by the library, the event will be held in the Hawley-Nichols Community Room from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. featuring a thought-provoking journey through the history and evolution of marriage in America, just in time to kick off the wedding season.

Zug will discuss her latest book, "You'll Do: A History of Marrying for Reasons Other Than Love," which delves into the legal and social frameworks that have shaped our understanding of love and commitment throughout American history.
From arranged marriages to contemporary relationships, Zug illuminates the complex interplay between love, law and societal expectations, according to the library.

About the Author
Marcia Zug is a professor of law at the University of South Carolina and a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. She is known for her engaging storytelling and ability to bring legal history to life. Her previous work, "Buying a Bride: An Engaging History of Mail-Order Matches," was highly acclaimed. Zug lives in South Carolina with her husband and two daughters.
