Trumbull Man Charged In Connection With 2021 Shooting In Stamford: PD
Stamford police said a 21-year-old Trumbull man was arrested and charged in connection to a shooting that occurred in Stamford in 2021.
STAMFORD, CT — Police said Friday they arrested and charged a 21-year-old man who was involved in a shooting that occurred in Stamford's South End in August 2021.
Kevin Conley, of Trumbull, was taken into custody without incident Thursday night in the 200 block of Henry Street in Stamford, according to Stamford Asst. Police Chief Richard Conklin.
Conley was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of a high capacity magazine, Conklin said. The charges came with a $250,000 bond.

In the late evening hours of Aug. 13, 2021, Conklin said a man, later identified as Conley, was shot multiple times from a car at the corner of Henry Street and Pacific Street.
After receiving numerous 911 calls from the community, responding officers found blood and other evidence of a shooting, but no victim, Conklin said.

"Conley flagged down a passing car, got in front of it and had that car take him to Stamford Hospital where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds," Conkin said.
During a canvas of the scene, officers followed a blood trail and found a loaded P80 ghost gun covered in blood with an "extremely large capacity magazine" that contained 30 rounds of ammunition underneath a parked car, Conklin said.
A ghost gun is an untraceable weapon which can be made at home from different components purchased online.
The gun, which was forensically analyzed, and security footage of Conley following the shooting, helped investigators identify him, Conklin said.
On Nov. 30, 2022, an arrest warrant for Conley was obtained.
On Thursday, the SPD's Detective Bureau, along with the Major Crime Unit, narcotics officers, unformed officers and K9 unit, searched for Conley in the South End area where he was known to visit, Conklin said.
Conley was seen pulling his car into a parking lot on Henry Street, and officers blocked him in. Officers made phone contact with Conley and talked him into exiting his car, Conklin said. He was then placed under arrest.
"This was a job well done by our investigators and uniformed officers who responded to the scene, and a good job by multiple units to take him into custody last night without incident," Conklin said.
An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, Conklin said.
"There certainly could have been a dispute over narcotics dealing in that area," he said. "This has not been solved at this point."
