Trumbull Man's Thumb Bitten Off, Suspect Pleas Guilty

A man's thumb was bitten off during a strange Trumbull home invasion.

TRUMBULL, CT — A 24-year-old man pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and burglary after a Trumbull homeowner's thumb was bitten off during a bizarre home invasion. Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin is considering sentencing the man to a six-year prison term.

The victim remains bewildered by the attack and believes suspect Jonathan Harris was on drugs during the Daniels Farm Road assault, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police were dispatched to a Daniels Farm Road residence in early August around 11 p.m. on a reported home invasion. The victim told police a man banged on his door and damaged some items on the porch. Harris forced his way inside.

A police K-9 tracked Harris to a nearby shed where he was apprehended. Harris was charged with first-degree assault, home invasion, burglary and criminal mischief.
