Trumbull: New Polling Places Caused By New House Districts
Town's registrars announce list of seven polling sites for the primaries, general election.

TRUMBULL, CT — New state House Districts have prompted new local districts in Trumbull, with the town's registrars recently announcing new voting sites.
Trumbull’s registrars of voters, Tracy Vonick and Jean Rabinow, have chosen the polling places for the 2022 primaries and general election.
Voters in District 1 will vote at Daniels Farm School (710 Daniels Farm Road); in District 2 at Booth Hill School (545 Booth Hill Road); in District 3 at Tashua School (41 Stonehouse Road); in District 4 at Madison Middle School (4630 Madison Ave.); in District 5 at Frenchtown Elementary School (30 Frenchtown Road); in District 6 at Middlebrook School (220 Middlebrooks Ave.); and in District 7 at Christian Heritage School (575 White Plains Road).

“We plan to mail out postcards with information about the new polling places before the Aug. 9 primaries and again before the Nov. 8 general election. We want to give everyone plenty of time to figure out where they’ll be voting,” said Vonick.
The postcards for the primaries will be mailed to the town’s registered active Republican and Democratic voters.

The registrars said these postcards should be in eligible voters’ mailboxes during the second week in July. The postcards for the general election will be mailed to all of Trumbull’s active registered voters and should arrive in October, about four weeks before the general election.
Under state law, primary elections are limited to the voters in whichever party is having a primary.
Voters who want to check their party affiliation can call the registrars’ office at 203-452-5058 or 203-452-5059, or they can check the Secretary of the State’s website at https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots.
Trumbull had to redraw its voting district lines after the state redistricting commission added small pieces of three state representative districts – the 112th, 122nd and 134th – to the only district wholly within Trumbull, the 123rd.
As a result, many of the town’s voters will find themselves at new polling places and voting for state representatives with whom they may be unfamiliar.
All of Trumbull remains in the 22nd state Senate district.
The town’s seven new voting districts contain nearly-equal populations and each district will have three seats on the 21 member Trumbull Town Council.
However, because of the state’s redistricting, some polling places will have to accommodate voters from more than one state representative district.
“The 2022 Trumbull Redistricting Committee tried to minimize the number of ‘split’ polling places,” said Rabinow. “However, voters at Madison, Middlebrook, and Christian Heritage will have to go through different check-in lines depending on which district their street is in.”
A map and descriptions of the new voting districts are available at https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/Ag.
The registrars also plan to post maps of the new districts and polling places at Trumbull Town Hall, the main library and the town's senior center.
