Trumbull PD Briefs: DUI Arrest, Homeless Man Trespassing in Home

DUI
A Monroe woman was arrested for DUI in Trumbull after his vehicle crossed over the double-yellow line, police said.
Paula Muthersbaugh, 49, was pulled over on Monroe Turnpike near Trefoil Drive Nov. 11. She allegedly told an officer that she was swerving because she was texting.

The officer smelled alcohol and Muthersbaugh failed a field sobriety test, police said. She was charged with DUI and failure to drive right.

A Trumbull resident arrived home Nov. 10 to find a homeless man in his basement.
The resident asked the man, later identified as Peter Ellis, 55, of New Haven what he was doing. Ellis didn’t reply and left the residence.
Police found Ellis not far away from the residence. He said the house used to belong to his uncle who is now deceased.
Ellis allegedly gave police false name while they were questioning him. He was charged with criminal impersonation, second-degree forgery second-degree trespassing and interfering with police.
