Trumbull PD Offers Tips To Deter Package Thefts
The thefts are uncommon in Trumbull lately, but the holiday season brings more targets for would-be package thieves.
TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull Police are offering residents tips on how to secure their packages during the holiday season.
Thefts from residents have been relatively rare in recent months in town, but the increase in package deliveries offers more targets for would-be thieves, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman.
Police offer the following tips:

- Use an alternate delivery destination where you know someone can claim your package such as your office, a friend, family member or neighbor.
- Ask the carrier to hold the package at a facility for pickup.
- Request signature required for delivery.
- Use package tracking.
Police also remind residents to keep vehicles locked and to hide any packages or valuables in a trunk when out shopping.
