TRUMBULL, CT — The Trumbull Police Department recently welcomed four new officers to the town's police force.

In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Weir said the four new recruits were sworn in Dec. 28 following a lengthy selection and testing process that included thorough background investigations.

  • Christopher Binkowitz, 23, of Fairfield
  • Andrew Huzina, 25, of Norwalk
  • Jacob Rodriguez, 25, of Stratford
  • Ashli Vasquez, 29, of Bridgeport

The recruits began attending the Meriden Police Academy on Dec. 29 and are expected to graduate in July when they will begin field training, Weir said.

Weir also noted the Trumbull Police Department currently has 72 officers in its ranks, including the four new employees, but is working to fill the remaining 10 vacant positions to attain a full authorized staff of 82 officers.
