Trumbull Police and Westfield Mall Officials Work Together to Deter Terrorist Threats

Trumbull Police are working with Westfield Shopping Mall officials to ensure safe and secure shopping in the wake of terrorist threats.

No specific threats have been made, said Lt. Leonard Scinto, police spokesman.

Some steps taken by police and mall officials will be visible while others will not.

“It is important for everyone to be vigilant and report any activity they feel is suspicious as soon as possible,” he said.

Somalian extremists linked to Al-Qaida urged attacks on shopping malls in the U.S., Canada and Britain, according to the Connecticut Post.
