Trumbull Police Arrest Alleged Burglar
The suspect may have broken into homes while residents slept.

Trumbull Police apprehended a suspected burglar after a resident noticed a burglary in progress.
A resident on Oakridge Road called police about the incident, which occurred around 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, said Lt. Leonard Scinto, police spokesman.
Detective Perez was nearby working a special duty traffic detail and heard the dispatch call come in, Scinto said. He quickly went to the residence and confronted a suspect who attempted to flee on foot.

The man, identified as Sherman Adams, 55, of Bridgeport was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of property taken during other reported burglaries, Scinto said. He is suspected of breaking in while residents were sleeping.
Adams was charged with multiple counts of first-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, possession of burglar tools, interfering with police, credit card theft and other charges.

The reported burglaries happened in the Nichols area of town, Scinto said. Police are still working to identify the owners of recovered property.
