Trumbull Republican Party Chairman Criticizes P&Z Chairman

The matter is related to a proposal for the town to acquire parcels of land near Town Hall and the library.

TRUMBULL, CT—Republican Town Committee Chairman Jack Testani is denouncing comments made by Planning and Zoning Chairman Fred Garrity related to the proposed property acquisition near Town Hall and the public library.

A proposal would have the town buy four parcels of land in order to increase parking for the library and provide better access to a nearby trail. The matter is scheduled for a Town Council vote Aug. 1.

"All of a sudden Fred Garrity believes in neighborhood input. He certainly didn't believe in neighborhood input on lower Main Street when eh shoved a controversial zone change down the throats of neighbors on a party line 3-2 vote," Testani said.
