Trumbull Schools Facing Large Budget Deficit
The interim superintendent has enacted a spending freeze, but the deficit is essentially insurmountable.
TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull's school system is facing a budget deficit that is estimated to be somewhere between $1.2 and $1.5 million.
Interim Superintendent Ralph Iassogna imposed a spending freeze and a suspension of overtime in order to cut costs as much as possible, according to the Trumbull Times.
Some of the biggest contributors to the deficit is special education spending, health costs and higher energy costs.
