Trumbull defeated Manchester (N.H.) 8-5 in eight innings on Sunday night to advance to the finals of the 15-year-old Babe Ruth New England Regionals in Farmington, Maine.

Trumbull took advantage of two Manchester errors and followed with three doubles to snap a 5-5 tie.

Willy Velez and Ryan Fritz had three hits for Trumbull and Colin Keyes, Chris Masi and Tim Keckle each added two.

Trumbull is off on until Wednesday, when it plays in the finals at 2 p.m against a team that emerges from the loser's bracket.

On Monday, Leominster (Western Mass.) takes on Braintree (Eastern Mass) in the loser's bracket semifinals.

The winner of that game faces Manchester on Tuesday for the right to meet Trumbull in the final.

The winner of the tournament advances to the 15-year-old Babe Ruth World Series set for Aug. 20-27 in Jamestown, N.Y.

On Friday, Stanley Wolpiuk tossed a five-hitter and delivered an RBI single as Trumbull bested Cranston (R.I), 6-2. Jeff Sam contributed three hits and drove in two runs.

On Saturday, Trumbull routed Essex (Vt.) 10-2 as Keyes and Masi each had three hits. Sam contributed a bases-loaded triple and Keckler tossed the first five innings to earn the victory.

Trumbull National defeated Shelton National 12-2 Thursday to capture the Littlefelllows Classic hosted annually by Shelton National.

Trumbull National, the top seed, reached the final with a 10-0 win over Fairfield American.

Shelton National, the No. 6 seed, advanced to the final with a 6-5 victory over Monroe
