Trumbull's postseason run ended with a 10-0 loss to Tri-Township (Pa.) in then semifinals of the 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series on Friday in Jamestown, N.Y.

The highlight of the tournament for Trumbull came in a 15-6 victory over Centralia (Wash.) in pool play when Colin Keyes tied a tournament recortd with five hits.
Trumbull senior linebacker Don Cherry, a key cog in the Eagles' march to the CIAC Class LL state championship game last year, has been named preseason All-State by ESPNHS.
ESPNHS listed senior offensive lineman Grant Roman and senior defensive lineman Zack Voyteck as players to watch.
For St. Joseph, which is coming off its second consecutive state championship, junior linebacker Mike Pulaski was tabbed All-State. Pulaski is looking to surpass the century mark in tackles for the second straight season.
Senior wide receiver Joe Burns was named as player to watch for the Cadets.
