St Joseph has taken over the top spot in the New Haven Register's state media boys basketball top 10 poll.

Hillhouse climbed eight spots to No. 2 after ending New London's 28-game winning streak last week. The Whalers, who had been No. 1, dropped five spots to No. 6.

Kolbe-Cathedral and Fairfield Prep debut in the poll at eighth and ninth, respectively.
