THS Girls Basketball Remains Undefeated
Eagles advance to championship game of Masuk tournament with a 41-38 win over Ridgefield, will play in finals against the host Panthers on Friday

The girls basketball team remained unbeaten with a 41-38 victory over Ridgefield in the Masuk holiday tournament on Wednesday.
Erin Moore scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Eagles (6-0), will face host Masuk in the championship game on Friday at 7 p.m.
Alexa Pfohl added 11 points and also pulled down 10 boards for Trumbull. Victoria Pfohl handed out eight assists.

Emily Favorite and Emma Glubiak scored seven points apiece to pace Ridgefield (3-3).
The contest was close all the way with the teams tied 30-30 entering the final quarter.

Masuk held off Hamden 44-43 in Wednesday's second game to advance to the final. Hamden and Ridgefield will meet in the consolation game on Friday at 5 p.m.

James Jennings scored 19 points and Timajh Parker added 17 as St. Joseph defeated New London 57-52 in day two action in the Northeast Basketball Classic at Webster Bank Arena.
The Cadets, who are ranked No. 1 in the state, defeated Archbishop Molloy 74-63 in the tourament on Tuesday.
Providence-bound Kris Dunn had 27 points for New London before falling out in the fourth quarter. Dunn, the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year, picked up a technical foul in the first half.
The Cadets finished with a 32-11 edge in free throws, leading by as many as 14 points in the first half.
St. Joseph (5-0) settled for a 35-26 edge at halftime that the Whalers erased by outscoring the Cadets 14-4 in the third quarter to take a 40-39 lead into the final period.
But St. Joseph outscored New London 18-12 over the final eight minutes to remain unbeaten.
Parker had seven rebounds and Pat Hopkins blocked seven shots for the Cadets.

The St. Joseph girls basketball team faces Staples on Thursday in the championship game of the Notre Dame of Fairfield Appalachian Christmas tournament.
Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Notre Dame. The contest is a clash of 5-1 teams who should for FCIAC playoff spots.
St. Joseph advanced with a 51-36 victory over Notre Dame, which will take on Mansfield (Mass.) in the consolation game at 5:15 p.m. Staples held off Mansfield 47-46 in overtime to reach the final.
