Cadets Girls Basketball Hosts Danbury Tonight

After ending Trumbull's 30-game winning streak, the girls basketball team faces another showdown on Tuesday as the Cadets host Danbury at 7 p.m.
St. Joseph's 51-41 win over Trumbull on Friday left Danbury as the FCIAC's only remaining unbeaten team.

With the season having just passed the midpoint, the Hatters (10-0, 8-0), Cadets (10-1, 8-1) and Eagles (9-1, 7-1) appear to be in a three-way battle for the top seed in next month's FCIAC playoffs. Danbury is coming off a 56-46 victory over Trinity Catholic.
Trumbull, which suffered its first FCIAC loss since 2010, looks to regroup at McMahon on Tuesday (5:45 p.m.).

The Senators (3-8) could be the perfect remedy for the Eagles to get back on track as they have lost seven of their last eight games, including a 74-37 loss to Fairfield Warde on Thursday.
On the boys side, undefeated St. Joseph (9-0) visits Danbury (7-1) in a showdown of its own and Trumbull (4-4) hosts McMahon (1-8) in 7 p.m. starts.
Danbury suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, falling 65-55 to Trinity Catholic. That result left St. Joseph and Ridgefield as the FCIAC's only unbeaten boys teams.
The Cadets are coming off a 61-46 victory over Trumbull on Friday while the Tigers (8-0, 6-0) routed routed Bassick, 73-47.

St. Joseph and Hillhouse (10-0) held on to the top two spots in this week's New Haven Register media top 10 boys basketball state poll.
The Cadets garnered 16 of the 18 first-place votes with Hillhouse earning the other two.
Ridgefield (8-0), which climbed one spot to ninth, is the only other FCIAC team in the poll.
Northwest Catholic (7-1) is third, followed by New London (9-2) and Kolbe Cathedral (10-0) to complete the top five.
Hartford Public (9-0) is sixth, followed by Career (8-1), Windsor (8-0), Ridgefield and Wilby (8-1).
FCIAC members Trinity Catholic (6-3), Danbury (7-1) and Greenwich (8-1) are receiving votes.
