Trumbull Boys Hockey Wins NYE Face Off

The Eagles rallied from a four-goal deficit to defeat Branford 7-6 in overtime on Saturday and improve to 5-1

The first annual New Year's Eve High School Hockey Face Off at Webster Bank Arena turned out to be a memorable one for the boys hockey team.

The Eagles rallied from a four-goal deficit to defeat Branford 7-6 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Ahearn had four goals and two assists for Trumbull, which scored three power-play goals and erased a 5-1 deficit.

With the start of the FCIAC season still a week away, the Eagles improved to 5-1. Trumbull now is off until Jan. 11, when it opens its FCIAC slate against Trinity Catholic.
