Stamford native will make his first local appearance as manager of the Boston Red Sox on Jan. 29, when he will join popular broadcaster Ed Randall for a baseball conversation at Rippowam Middle School, Valentine's old high school.
The hot stove session will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 4:45 p.m.. The middle school is located on 381 High Ridge Road in Stamford.

The event will benefit Randall's fan's for the cure, prostate cancer awareness program. Attendees will have an opportunity to win Red Sox tickets, autographed items and more.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. They are available at Bobby V's Sports Gallery Cafe in Stamford or online at www.fans4thecure.org.

The girls basketball team returns home Friday following a two-game road trip to host Bridgeport Central at 7 p.m.
After having it 30-game FCIAC winning streak snapped at St. Joseph last Friday, the Eagles got back on track with a 55-25 victory over NcMahon on Tuesday.
The Eagles (10-1, 8-1) trail Danbury (11-0, 9-0), the FCIAC's only unbeaten team, by one game in the FCIAC West.
Bridgeport Central snapped a five-game losing streak with a 59-30 victory over winless Bassick (0-11, 0-9) on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers (2-10, 1-9) earned their first FCIAC victory of the season.
The St. Joseph girls are at Bassick (5:15 p.m.) looking to rebound from Tuesday's 55-25 loss to Danbury. The Cadets (10-2, 8-2) have a one-game lead over Wilton (7-3, 7-4) in the FCIAC East.
On the boys side, Trumbull visits Bridgeport Central in a 7 p.m. start.
The Eagles (5-4) are coming off a 54-53 victory over McMahon while Bridgeport Central (5-3) dropped an 88-82 decision at Bassick.
The St. Joseph boys are off on Friday.
