Cadets and Eagles Win Classics, Resume FCIAC Play

After competing in holiday tournaments last week, the St. Joseph and boys and girls basketball teams resume their FCIAC schedules on Tuesday.

The St. Joseph boys visit Fairfield Ludlowe while the St. Joseph girls host the Falcons. The Trumbull boys travel to New Canaan while the Trumbull girls are home for the Rams. All four games begin at 7 p.m.

The St. Joseph boys (5-0), who are ranked No. 1 in the state, won a pair of games at the Northeast Christmas Classic last week, defeating Archbishop Malloy and New London.

The St. Joseph girls also were victorious, defeating Staples 46-41 in the championship game of the Notre Dame of Fairfield Appalachian Christmas tournament to improve to 6-1.

The Trumbull girls upped their mark to 7-0 with a 43-40 victory over Masuk in the championship game of the Masuk holiday tournament.

The Trumbull boys are 3-2 after routing Platt 70-41 in its holiday classic on Thursday.
