Baseball

St. Joseph 4, Plainville 0 (Class M, second round)  -  Joe Burns tossed a four-hitter for the top-seeded Cadets, who will face No. 24 Stonington in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at West Haven's Quigley Stadium.  Alex Guadalupe had a two-run single for the Cadets (21-3).

Boys lacrosse

St. Joseph 8, Weston 6 (Class S, first round) -- Pat Corcoran scored four goals for the Cadets, who avenged a 7-6 loss to Weston in last season's Class S state championship game.
