On Saturday, the Trumbull boys track team broke a 12-year old school record and recorded the best time in the state this season in the 4x100 meter relay at the 40th Annual Lindy J. Remigino Hartford Open.
The team, comprised of Mike Adinolfi, Nick Lombardi, Phil Terio, and Keith Bond set the new mark with a time of 42.94. The previous record stood at 43.5 and was set in 1999.

Adinolfi, Lombardi, and Bond were joined later in the meet by Malcolm Connor to win the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:24.19. This was also the best time recorded in the state this season. The first-place 1victors walked away from the meet with watches specially designed for the event.
Additional records broken this season include Keith Bond’s new 400-meter mark of 49.4 and Adinolfi’s 300 intermediate hurdle time of 39.90. The previous 400-meter record stood at 49.92 set by Ed Bullard in 1980 and the 300m IM hurdles mark of 39.94 was set by Eric Viets in 1999.

The track team’s record currently stands at 7-2 with one regular season meet remaining against St. Joseph and Harding High School on Monday at 3:30 at McDougal Stadium. The FCIAC Championship awaits on May 24 at Danbury High School after the regular season concludes.
-- Christian Heritage School varsity softball players Olivia Cichon (pitcher) and Jess Cicerchia (shortstop) were chosen to play in the Western New England Prep School Softball Association All-Star Game on Sunday at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor.
They joined with 29 other varsity softball all-stars in the game which precedes the WNEPSSA tournament later this month.
Cichon pitched two innings, allowing no runs and only one hit, while Cicerchia, a freshman, played right field and shortstop.

St. Joseph 4, Norwalk 2 -- --Breana Shepard had three hits and winning pitcher Micki Keltos delivered an RBI single in the seventh inning, when the Cadets scored two runs to snap a 2-2 tie. St. Joseph snapped a two-game losing streak.
Baseball
St. Joseph 9, Norwalk 4 -- Alex Guadalupe belted a three-run homer and Jason Holcomb delivered a three-run double for the Cadets, who improved to 15-1.
