Despite Friday's 5-4 loss at Staples, the St.  Joseph baseball (13-2 in league play) heads into the final week of the regular-season with a one-game lead over McMahon (12-3) in the battle for the top seed in the FCIAC playoffs.

The Cadets hosts Fairfield Ludlowe on Monday, then finish on the road against Harding and Stamford. All three teams are out of playoff contention.

The St. Joseph girls softball team, meanwhile,  has locked up an FCIAC playoff spot and is looking to finish in the top four which would give the Cadets (12-3) a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

St. Joseph currently is in third place, ahead of New Canaan (11-4) and Danbury (10-4).

Trumbull 10, Norwalk 7 -- Thomas Fox collected three hits and scored three runs for the Eagles.

SATURDAY'S SCHEDULE

Girls lacrosse

Trumbull 9, St. Joseph 5 -- Lisa Pulie had four goals while Mary Rose Rappa  and Natalie Crowe added two each for the Eagles. Libby DeLuca and Katie Bradley each scored twice for the Cadets.

Boys lacrosse

Wilton 19, St. Joseph 13 -- LJ Hunt scored four goals and Brian Bacarella added three for the Cadets.
