St. Joseph girls soccer coach Jack Nogueira, who guided the Cadets to state championships in 2007 and 2008, will be honored by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association during its Coach of the Year Recognition Dinner May 12 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
Tickets for the dinner, which starts at 7 p.m., are $45 and may be purchased by contacting John Fontana at 860-628-4122.

A guidance counselor and girls soccer coach at St. Joseph since 1998, Nogueira will be one of 25 coaches honored.

TUESDAY'S RESULTS
Softball
Newtown 7, St. Joseph 6-- The Nighthawks erased a 6-4 deficit by scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Boys lacrosse
Trumbull 14, Morgan 3 -- --Spencer Ryan (four) and Pat Lomnitzer (three) combined for seven goals to lead the Eagles to the conference win.
St. Joseph 19, Fairfield Warde 0 -- Mike Marini erupted for seven goals for the Cadets, who built a 14-0 halftime lead by tallying seven goals in each of the first two quarters. Brian Bacarella finished with three goals for St. Joseph.
