Trumbull Scores and Standings: Nov 17

The Trumbull boys soccer game against No. 18 seed Glastonbury in the quarterfinals of the Class LL state tournament was postponed until Thursday at 5 p.m. because of Wednesday's rain.

Seeded seventh, the FCIAC champions have advanced with wins over No. 26 New Milford and No. 10 Simsbury.

The winner of Thursday's contest, which will be played in Trumbull, will take on either No. 3 Norwalk or No. 6 Farmington, the defending state champion, in the semifinals. Their game also was postponed until Thursday.

The 18th-seeded Eagles (10-4-6), who are coming off a 3-0 win over No. 7 New Cannaan after stunning No. 2 seed South Windsor in the second round, will face Newtown on Friday in the Class LL tournament at West Haven at 6:30 p.m.

The winner will take on either top seed Glastonbury or No. 20 Staples in the finals next weekend.

Fourth-seeded St. Joseph, which has won its three tournament games by a ccombined margin of 21-1, battles Northwest Catholic in the Class M semifinals. That contest will be played on Friday at Waterbury's Municipal Stadium at 5 p.m.

Tickets for the Trumbull at St. Joseph Thanksgiving Day football game at 10:30 a.m. will be on sale at both schools Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at Trumbull on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. All tickets are $6.

The game will be named after Jerry McDougall, the late Trumbull coach who passed away last month.
